The Dogon people of Mali believed that a child had no relevance until the father spoke its name. Nia has always taken her name very seriously and felt the weight of it as a calling on her life. With a lifelong dedication to people, Nia is a licensed mental health professional and the CEO of On Purpose with Nia - a ministry dedicated to connecting humans to resources through unique experiences, storytelling, and personal transparency. Nia is a native Baltimorean, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Morgan State University in 2010, and returned to her Alma Mater to receive her Masters of Social Work in 2017. In 2011, Nia married the love of her life, Bryce Jones, and in 2013 gave birth to her one and only son Jackson. In December of 2022, Nia fulfilled her vow of "til death do us part" as she watched her husband take his last breath. Nia currently lives in Baltimore County with her son.
